Clear Skin Diet
Clear skin begins by developing a care routine that maintains your skin’s natural balance. That’s why choosing products that are made specifically for your complexion is so important.

Diet also plays a crucial role. Here are some easy (and delicious) foods that will work with your skin care regime to help you get a clearer and more vibrant complexion!

We’re getting the simplest one out of the way first. Hydrate! It’s the perfect way to flush away those toxins and help your skin to be its clean and radiant best.

Varieties of oily fish like salmon, mackerel, and tuna are rich in omega 3 fats. These are crucial for healthy cell development.

Leafy greens
Spinach and kale are full of the nutrients and antioxidants your skin needs to be healthy and free from impurities.

Bright and colourful fruits
Capsicum, strawberries and citrus fruits. The stronger the colour, the higher the concentration level of antioxidants.

Nuts and seeds
Chia seeds, flaxseed, almonds, and walnuts. Almonds are seeds (yes, they’re not nuts) and are packed with Vitamin E. Eat about 20 almonds a day for the right amount of antioxidants to help protect your skin.

Limit caffeine & sugar
It might be hard, but limiting your intake of sugar, caffeine and alcohol will help you to achieve and maintain clear skin.

Trust us. Tumeric.
Tips for Clean and Healthy Skin
If you’re in your 20s or even 30s and you still get the occasional spot of acne on your face, you’re not alone. Possible causes range from elevated or fluctuating stress hormone levels, to reactions to different foods.

Hope is not lost. When it comes to having clear skin, balance is the key. In addition to a healthy diet, here are five other steps to healthy, glowing skin:

  1. Exercise
Exercise increases blood flow, directing oxygen to the working cells in your body – including your skin and liver - which neutralises toxins.

  2. Identify your skin type
Identify your skin type – normal and combination, dry, oily, or sensitive – and use products best suited for it.

  3. Skin care regime
Wash your face twice daily in warm, not hot water, with a cleanser suited to your skin complexion, and moisturise.

  4. Sun protection
Every time we’re exposed to the sun’s rays it causes skin to age. Block harmful UV rays and prevent sun damage with a good quality sunscreen, and sun smart clothing.

  5. Healthy mind
Did you know that stress can weaken your immune system and speed up the ageing process? So turn off the computer, turn on your favourite music, treat yourself to a relaxing bath, and smile!

NIVEA and renowned artist Thomas Leveritt created a new video that used an ultraviolet (UV) camera to demonstrate the effectiveness of sunscreen and how to protect yourself against sunburn. It’s also a great video to show children about sun safety.
